Report or Overall Summary:

On 21st March 2025, the NCC subunit of St. Francis College Koramangala, in collaboration with E-cure Charitable Trust, organized a tree plantation drive on the occasion of World Forest Day at the National Centre for Excellence (NCFE) in Kaggadasapura. A total of 34 NCC cadets from SFC, 20 student volunteers, and 16 faculty members from NCFE attended the event.

The event commenced at 10:00 AM and concluded at 12:30 PM, with a distinguished gathering of chief guests. The esteemed guests included Dr. N Vijayakumar, Chairman of NCFE, and David S R, Founder of E-Cure Charitable Trust. Their presence added gravity and significance to the occasion, inspiring the students and NCC cadets to take action towards environmental conservation. All participants took an oath to prevent water wastage and promote effective waste management through the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. They also committed to planting tree saplings annually and nurturing them, thereby contributing to a greener and healthier environment for future generations. The event saw the planting of over 40 tree saplings by all volunteers on the NCFE premises.

The primary goal of the event was to plant saplings and transfer the responsibility of nurturing them to NCFE. This objective was successfully achieved by the participants. Through their involvement in this hands-on activity, both the students and NCC cadets gained a deeper understanding of the significance of tree plantation in maintaining ecological balance and its broader impact on environmental conservation. The event was a great success, with the participants displaying enthusiasm and eagerness to learn about ways to protect and preserve the environment.
