About
The Department of Library and Information Centre was established in the year 2019; Library has a vast collection of books, reference books, bounded volumes, technical/non-technical national and international journals, e- books, e- journals, encyclopedia and other multimedia resources. SFC Library subscribes technical journals/ magazines and daily newspapers which include English and Kannada. The Main Library have a separate section of E-Library and Reading Room with a seating capacity of 150. The Easylib with RFID and Biometric software are used for library services. The Library facilitate with computerised sources, Internet, Wi-Fi technology, CCTV surveillance, which creates good learning environment for the students and staffs.

The aim of the library is to support the curriculum needs of students, teaching staffs & support staffs of the institution through the development of important collections.

E-Library

E-Library established inside the library hall with 27 computers, including a high-speed internet connection with Head Phone facilities. Users can access e-resources like e-journals and e-books through E-databases which are subscribed by the institution

User Manual

• Members should make biometric for the issue of books. There is no library membership card that will be issued.
• Members are responsible for borrowed materials from the library
• The librarian has the power to suspend the membership or refuse entry into the library if any member violates the rules and regulations of the library.

Activities

Student Orientation Programme : Every year after the admission of the students we organize an orientation program for the new users of our college. In this program, we give them some information about our library collections and services and guide them how to use the library.

Book Exhibition : We conducted books exhibition on 11th February 2020 in library premises for benefit of the students.

Programme Report

Library Rules and Regulations:
Students are allowed to Library only on production of their authorized college ID cards.
No personal belongings and personal textbooks are allowed inside the library.
Users have to make biometric while at the time of borrowing books from the library and also at the time of entry into the Library / Reading room and at the
    time of exiting. Library attendance will be considered.
Strict silence to be maintained and no group study allowed inside the library/Reading Room.
Using mobile phones is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
Books should be handled with care. Marking on the books, tearing pages etc are most objectionable and may lead to initiation of
    stringent disciplinary action on the member.
Issuance of library books is limited to two for students over a period of 7 days.
Returns of books are mandatory on or before the due date mentioned on the due date slip attached on the last page of the book. A fine of Rs.5/- per day
    will be levied for overdue books.
Borrowed books are non-transferable and a borrower shall remain responsible for material issued to him/ her until it is returned.
Reference books, journals and magazines, dissertations are not allowed to take outside from the library.
The librarian may recall any borrowed books from the library from the members at any time and the members shall return the same immediately.
Renewals are allowed only one time.
Users should obey the library rules and regulations. Violation of rules and any act of misbehavior to the library staff will lead to strong disciplinary action.
Users if lost the borrowed books, the member has to procure a new edition copy of the same with overdue fines or has to pay 2 times of the cost of the book.
