The Department of Mathematics celebrated National Mathematics Day on 22/12/2021 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. Changing with the paradigm of the NEP on higher Education from knowledge based education to skill based education, motivating the students of Mathematics to look deeper into the applications of Mathematics is of major concern. To sensitize them to the immense research potential of the subject an interclass academic event “Capture a Moment “- (poster making competition - a photograph, along with an explanation of the mathematics involved) has been conducted. On 20/12 /2021 a seminar on” where can Math Take Me- The scope of Data science in the Modern world” by Dr. Sahana Prasad, an eminent statistician and an adjunct faculty in Christ (Deemed to be University) was organized. 60 students from Science and Management streams participated and the event was highly appreciated.
