CHAMPION’S ARENA

No. of Participants : 11 teams (66 students)
Objectives of the activity:
To assess the fund management skills of future managers.
To boost up the sense of team spirit, one of the most required employable qualities.
Each team had five participants and was given a budget of 100 crores to buy 11 players consisting of captain, batsman, all-rounder, pacer, fast bowler, spinner and a wicket keeper. Mr. Yogesh, secretary of the Club collected information of 650 international Cricket players, fixed the base quote price for each of the players and designed the event.
Execution Procedure/Details:
Student coordinators circulated the posters a week before the events. Council members and program coordinators pulled the data of 1200 cricket players from all over the world. The data collected was categorized into skippers, batsmen, all rounders, wicketkeepers, pacers, spinners and fast bowlers. Each player was given the quote price and the data was fed to PPT. Required properties were hand picked and prepared by the coordinators.
Program outcome:
Participating students learnt analytical, decision making and fund management skills.
Brief Summary:
Program began with a warm welcome note by Ms. Sneha, II MBA. Mr. Syed, President and Mr. Aiyanna, Vice President of the club acted as auctioneers and displayed the details of the players on ppt with remarks such as strike rate, number of centuries and half centuries, ICC ranking, star rating along with the base quote price. Participating teams bid on the players in multiples of tens. The event concluded at 12:45 PM. IPL auction gave an opportunity to the students to exhibit team spirit, money management and decision-making skills. Fair competition was displayed, the team who used the fund efficiently and had an effective 11 was declared as winner.
Event ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Shahid, Student of II MBA.
