Key Highlights: The session was interactive and fruitful for the students. It provided platform for students to meet and listen to Padma Shri Awardee Saalumarada Thimmakka and learn about need to protect nature.

Objective :
The main objective of this event is to provide platform for students to understand importance of environmental protection, plantation of trees and move towards sustainable development for well being of society, and inauguration of Youth red cross unit.

How was the activity executed : Students were informed about the World environmental Day celebration at our premises through circular, poster and public announcement.


Event started at 12.30 PM. At first chief guest “Saalumarada Thimmakka” Padma Shri Awardee was welcomed by Principal R N Subba Rao. Followed by honoring chief guest by Bro Antony Vayalil and Bro Peter. Chief guest of the event Padma Shri Awardee Saalumarada Thimmakka addressed students and enlightened the occasion by speaking about her life journey and experience of receiving Padma shri award. Her words expressed the love for nature and plantation. Message given was Save planet by planting more tress and make it a better place to live for creations of god. Mr.Srikanta A S ,Nodal officer of Youth Red Cross Bengaluru Central university provided motivational speech on role of youth red cross unit in an institution and also provided valuable inputs on protection of environment and its impact on health and society.

Finally the event was concluded by Plantation of tree in the premises and Inauguration of Youth red cross unit.
