Objective : The main objective of this program is “to select eligible players to represent the BCU in the All India Inter-University Championship.

Outcome :
· Participants gave their best performance.
· A university team has been selected/formed based on the eligibility criteria.
· College students came to know about rules and regulations and competition level of Powerlifting and Weightlifting in the university.

Department of Physical Education of St. Francis College Koramangala in association with the Directorate of Physical Education, BCU conducted the “BCU Inter-Collegiate Weightlifting and Powerlifting Championship for both Men and Women” on 7th & 8th June 2023 to form the BCU Weightlifting and Powerlifting teams to represent in the all-India inter-university Championship for the academic year 2022-23. A total of 190 Players from various colleges affiliated to BCU participated in the championship. The Weightlifting and Powerlifting Competitions were conducted in 10 and 8 different weight categories respectively and winners were awarded certificates and medals, in addition, the best lifter was awarded with an exciting cash prize. Sri. Shyam Sundar M, Physical Education Director, NMAMIT Nitte, was the chief guest for the Weightlifting competition on 7th June 2023 and Sri. Vishwanath Ganiga, International Powerlifter was the chief guest for the Powerlifting Competition on 8th June 2023. Both the guests shared their sports life experiences with all the participants.
