Objectives of the activity:
1. To promote innovation and creativity among students.
2. To bridge academic learning with real-world challenges through experiential events
like mock interviews and stock trading simulations.
3. To celebrate cultural diversity and talent through artistic performances, fashion shows,
and music
EXECUTION PROCEDURE/DETAILS:
Academic events from Management, commerce and Computer a[plication was held on
26/11/2024 and the cultural and ethnic day was held on 27/11/2024. Zillionaire club council members with organising committee members prepared the brochures, posters with
registration link and circulated the posters with all the class groups and motivated the
students to participate in the two day event. A total of 116 participants participated in the two
day event
PROGRAMME OUTCOME:
Vidyotsava 2024 was a vibrant celebration that recognized and rewarded talent while
providing a memorable experience for all involved. The events at Vidyotsava 2024 not only
tested technical and intellectual abilities but also emphasized critical soft skills like
teamwork, communication, and adaptability
BRIEF SUMMARY:
Day 1: Academics Events at Vidyotsava 2024
Date: November 27, 2024
Event: Academic Events
1. Career Clash
The Career Clash event tested participants' quick thinking and interpersonal skills through a
two-round process:
● Round I: Filling in the Blanks
Participants were provided with incomplete sentences or scenarios that they had to
complete. This round was designed to evaluate their analytical and creative thinking
abilities, as well as their understanding of business contexts.
● Round II: Fire the Boss
In this round, participants took on the role of HR professionals tasked with "firing" a
boss. The judges acted as the bosses, making the task both challenging and dynamic.
The participants had to justify their decisions persuasively, showcasing their
communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
The winners were determined based on cumulative scores across both rounds. This holistic
evaluation ensured recognition of consistent performers who excelled in both analytical and
interpersonal aspects
2. Stock Shockers
Stock Shockers simulated a live stock market experience, turning participants into investors managing a virtual portfolio.
Trading Platform and Process
Participants were asked to download the "Stock Slim" app and were provided with ₹10,00,000 in virtual funds. They were given access to trade 10 stocks: Reliance Power, Infosys, Zomato, Trident, Gold Bees, MRPL, Cipla, Nestle India, DLF, Biocon, and Suzlon.
Trading Dynamics
The trading session lasted from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, during which participants could buy and sell stocks at real-time market prices. Their task was to maximize profits through strategic decision-making and market analysis.
The participant with the highest profit at the end of the session was declared the winner, reflecting their ability to navigate market dynamics and make profitable investment choices.
3. CEO Mania
CEO Mania was designed to identify the best managerial and leadership qualities among participants, through three distinct rounds:
Round I: Aptitude Test
Participants underwent an aptitude test focusing on logical reasoning, decision-making, and business acumen.
Round II: Video Presentation
The top performers from the aptitude test were asked to create a one-minute video outlining their short-term and long-term goals as CEOs. This round evaluated their vision, clarity of thought, and ability to communicate strategic goals effectively. Five contestants were eliminated based on the quality of their responses.
Final Round: Stress Interview
The remaining five finalists faced a rigorous stress interview conducted by Ms. Shrunga, Head of the Department of Commerce, and Ms. Anusha. This round tested their composure, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
The contestant who displayed exceptional managerial and interpersonal skills was crowned the "Best Manager."
4. Excel Cape
Excel Cape tested participants' problem-solving and technical skills in a time-bound challenge:
Challenge Setup
Participants were given a series of five Excel sheets, each containing complex problems. To proceed to the next sheet, they had to solve the given tasks and decode a password embedded in the solution.
Objective
The goal was to crack all five sheets in the shortest possible time, demonstrating proficiency in data analysis, logical reasoning, and Excel functions.
The team that completed all sheets with the minimum time was declared the winner, showcasing their ability to work efficiently under pressure.
5. Debugging Competition: Participants tackled complex coding issues to identify and resolve bugs, showcasing their problem-solving and technical skills under time constraints. The event highlighted their logical reasoning and programming expertise.
6. Web Designing: Contestants demonstrated creativity and technical proficiency by building functional and visually appealing websites, blending innovation with user-friendly design elements.
7. Tech Speak: Participants presented on trending technological topics, demonstrating their knowledge, communication skills, and ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
Day 2: Cultural and Ethnic Day at Vidyotsava 2024
Date: November 27, 2024
Event: Cultural and Ethnic Day
The second day of Vidyotsava 2024 was a vibrant celebration of culture and tradition, marked by students showcasing their ethnic pride and cultural heritage. The day was a perfect blend of creativity, talent, and unity, fostering a sense of community among the participants and audience.
Ethnic Dress Celebration
The day began with a colorful display of traditional attire, as students from the MBA, MCA, and M.Com programs came dressed in stunning ethnic wear, representing the rich diversity of India’s culture. A panel of judges selected the Best Dressed Male and Female from each course and year. This recognition added excitement to the celebrations and encouraged students to embrace and showcase their cultural heritage with pride.
Cultural Evening: A Kaleidoscope of Talent
The cultural evening began at 2:30 PM in the college auditorium, hosted by the charismatic Ms. Santa Maria as the Master of Ceremonies. The event unfolded in a series of captivating performances and heartfelt moments.
Welcome Address
Ms. Aparna, Fest Coordinator of the Zillionaire Club, warmly welcomed the gathering with an inspiring speech that set a positive tone for the evening.
Invocation Song
The MBA Prayer Choir delivered a soul-stirring invocation song, invoking blessings and creating a serene ambiance for the event. Their harmonious performance resonated with the audience, marking an auspicious start to the festivities.
Welcome Dance
Ms. Rakshitha, Secretary of the Zillionaire Club, performed a graceful welcome dance. Her mesmerizing movements and elegance captured the spirit of the day and left the audience in awe.
Cultural Competitions
The evening continued with a series of cultural competitions that highlighted the diverse talents of the students. These events were masterfully introduced by Ms. Muktha, who invited participants to showcase their skills in the following categories:
Solo Dance: Contestants amazed the audience with their creativity and energy, each performance a unique expression of art and emotion.
Group Dance: Teams performed with impeccable coordination and passion, showcasing cultural themes and innovative choreography.
Solo Singing: Participants sang melodious and powerful renditions, evoking emotions and earning enthusiastic applause.
Fashion Walk: Students confidently displayed their ethnic attire in a dazzling show of style and tradition, blending modern and classical aesthetics.
Vote of Thanks
Ms. Ramya proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the organizers, participants, and audience for making the day a grand success. Her heartfelt words reflected the collective effort and enthusiasm that had gone into organizing the event.
Tamate and Dance Celebration
After the formal events, the festivities moved to the college quadrangle, where a tamate (drum) session brought everyone together. The rhythmic beats created an electrifying atmosphere, and students danced with joy, celebrating the spirit of unity and cultural diversity. This hour-long celebration of music and movement was a fitting finale to the day, encapsulating the essence of Vidyotsava’s Cultural and Ethnic Day.
