Inauguration of Gender Sensitizing Cell and Seminar on “Gender Stereotypes” on 16/12/2022 in the academic year 2022-2023 (Odd Semester)
Objective : (Objective of the seminar) For the students to, learn different aspects and perceptions about the topic.

Outcome : (Outcome of Inauguration) To improve the leadership quality of students.
(Outcome of Seminar) To increase listening skills, to respect all gender as one and equal and to gain knowledge about “Gender Stereotypes”.

Brief Report :
The Gender-Sensitizing Cell of St.Francis College was inaugurated on 16/12/2022 in Quadrangle from 2:30 PM onwards. The Chief Guest of the day was Ms.Akkai Padmashali. She is a social and political activist, singer, and motivational speaker. The event was hosted by Mohammed Suhail, Final year B.Sc (PJC), and Surega Suresh, Final year B.A. It started with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries and was continued by a prayer song and welcome dance. The welcome speech was given by Meenakshi, Final year B.Sc (PJC). Soon after the welcome speech, the Gender Sensitizing cell was inaugurated by the dignitaries by revealing the logo of the club. The office bearers of the club were felicitated with sash and badge. The members of the club were felicitated with a badge. The office bearers of the club are: Pavan (President), Harshitha (Vice-President), Nagaraju (Secretary) and Fathima (Joint Secretary) respectively. The members of the club are: Shreyas, Bhargavi, Bala Swamy and Daniel respectively. Post it, the stage was taken over by Ms.Akkai Padmashali. She spoke about LGBT Community and gave information regarding the same. She asked some questions to students. There is no gender that is superior than the rest and vice versa. The session was made interesting and interactive. After the seminar, there was a skit performed related to the gender inequalities. The event came to an end by the vote of thanks that was administered by Mr. Pavan, the newly elected President of the cell. Finally, the evet turned out to be successful.

Prizes were distributed to students who excelled in various literary activities during the academic year 2021-22. The winners were felicitated by the Director, Deputy Director and Principal.
Portia is one of the most famous and adored female characters in Shakespeare’s canon, and her “Mercy Speech” is an excellent monologue for an actor’s repertoire. The monologue of Portia was performed by Ms.Siya of IV Semester BA.

The greatest Shakespearean play, "Macbeth," was performed by BBA and BA students, and the characters presented a wonderful fabrication of expression and dialogue.

A dance illustrating the theme of poverty was then performed by students of II Sem BBA "A" Section. They realistically depicted the world's hunger problem, the suffering of the poor, and the lack of educational opportunities.

Mr.Ashith entertained the audience with his fantastic instrumental music.
The final event of the whole programme was the Ball Dance.

The Deputy Director congratulated the students' achievements and appreciated the event coordinators for their guidance. The event concluded with Vote of Thanks by Mr.Gagan Students gave positive feedback about the programme. They expressed their interest in participating in more events organised by the Department.
