Objective :

• Open new windows for students to broaden their minds through poetry
• Develop verbal skills and boost the confidence of the students.

Improves language skills

To spread the fragrance of poetry among students, the English Club organised a Poetry Writing Competition. The event was conducted on 16/12/2022 at 2:30 pm in Room No 105. Ms. Sowmya. S, Assistant Professor, Department of English, organised the event. The competition was organised to raise awareness of poetry in the modern era and to help students develop their language skills. There were 22 participants for this event.

Students enjoyed the beauty of expression, thoughts, feelings, rhyme, and rhythm of words in the realm of poetry. Taking all these facts into consideration , the students got an opportunity to exhibit their talent. The theme of the competition was announced one day before the competition. The students created compositions on the themes "Nature," "Friendship," "Inspiration." and “ Memories”

The event was judged by Dr.Richa Jha, Assistant Professor, Department of English. Poems were judged on the following parameters: Cohesiveness, Relevance to the theme and Creativity/Style.
