The Orientation for Cyber Security Specialization was conducted on August 3rd, 2023, aiming to provide a foundational understanding of cybersecurity and its significance in the digital landscape. The session was tailored to introduce I Semester BCA students to the fundamentals of cybersecurity and potential career paths in this field.

Objectives :
1. Introduction to Cybersecurity : To acquaint students with the basic principles and importance of cybersecurity in the digital age.
2. Awareness of Cyber Threats : To create awareness about various cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and the measures required to safeguard information and systems.
3. Building Foundation : To lay a strong foundation for students interested in pursuing a specialization in cybersecurity, equipping them with essential knowledge and skills.

Learning Outcomes :
1. Understanding of Cybersecurity Concepts : Students gained insights into core cybersecurity principles encompassing confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation.
2. Awareness of Cyber Threat Landscape : Introduction to various types of cyber threats including malware, phishing, ransomware, DDoS attacks, and social engineering, providing an understanding of potential risks faced by individuals and organizations.
3. Cybersecurity Careers and Opportunities : Students were exposed to diverse career paths in cybersecurity, ranging from roles as cybersecurity analysts, security engineers, ethical hackers, to information security managers.
