Objective:
To make the teachers understand the need to take steps to engage students because it helps students become active participants in their own learning.

Ms. Soumya S, Asst. Professor, Department of English started the programme by welcoming the gathering, followed by Ms. Shobha Jonathan, Asst Professor, Dept. of Commerce graced the occasion with college prayer.
Dr. R N Subba Rao, Principal did the welcome address
Ms. Jincy C P, HOD, Dept of Science briefed the profile of the resouce person to the gathering, followed by resource person take over the session.
Prof K Raghothama Rao, discussed that “ One of his biggest challenges: Learning how to present the content to get it across effectively and keep students interested”.

• Dr. S Muralidhar take of the session by 11: 35 AM.
• Dr. S Muralidhar, discussed the following points:
• An Overview of NEP 2020
• Implementation of NEP in Karnataka
• Governance and Regulation
• Curriculum Reforms in Higher Education
• Scheme of Teaching & Evaluation

Few important points from the session:
• Engaged students are interested in learning the material and expressing what they have learned-and even more importantly, what they don't yet understand-to the teacher and their fellow students, The teacher's knowledge is a necessary part of the backdrop in this process, but it is not sufficient.
• The teacher must connect with students at their level, teach passionately and establish rapport with their students.
• One key to becoming a teacher-and a good one at that-is to accept this fact and use it to your advantage in terms of identifying weak spots in your teaching and then finding ways to put them right.

Mainly focused on the importance of
• Come to class prepared and organized
• Engage students by using examples they can relate to
• Establish a rapport with students.

Sir concluded with “If teaching is fun, you are more likely to take steps to become a better teacher". Resource person made the session so engaged with fun activities and the with stories

Outcome:
The faculties understood the importance of how the students can be engaged to learn the subject with interest.
