DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION
A report on PU Intercollegiate Tournament 2022, held on 17th Feb-2022.

St Francis Degree College efficaciously organised inter collegiate sports meet for various PU colleges in and around Bengaluru. There was a formal inaugural function in the morning. We had around 600 players from 15 esteemed PU colleges in and around Bengaluru participated in various events. Throw ball and Basketball events were organised for both boys and girls, whereas volley ball competition was held only for boys. All players were extremely active and upheld sportsmanship in all the events.

The event witnessed participation from many prominent colleges like Sri Sai Ram College, St. Francis PU College, St. Claret College, BMS college, St. Josephs college, St. Josephs College for women, St. Michaels college, APS PU College, Vijaya PU college, SLN PU college, Sri Krishna PU College and Abbas Khan College.

Sports like Throw ball, basketball and volley ball were organized. The first place for Throwball Girls was secured by BMS College for Women and the runners up position was bagged by St Francis PU College. St Joseph’s PU College won first place and runners up position was held by St Francis PU College for boys throwball match.

St Claret PU College declared their victory in basketball for boys by securing first place and St Joseph’s PU College were the runners up. St Claret PU College secured first place in basketball match held for girls and runners up position was safeguarded by St Francis PU College. Similarly, St Claret PU College won the Volley ball match for boys and St Joseph’s PU College took the runners up position.

Meanwhile when all the students showcased extraordinary performances and sportsman spirit, Soumya Jain from BMS college and Srivallika from St Claret PU College were declared the best players for throw ball and basketball respectively. As the day unfurled Manoj Rai from St Joseph’s College, Sankith from St Claret PU College and Udaya Narayana K from St Claret PU College were acknowledged as best players for Throwball, Basketball and Volleyball respectively.

The management, principal, Teaching, Non-teaching staff, match officials and students of St. Francis college encouraged all the events and participants.

The cash prize of Rs.5000/- and a trophy will be awarded to the team who won the I prize. For the II prize, a cash prize of Rs.3000/- will be given away to the team who won the II place in the respective events.

Overall, there was an active participation and coordination from the management, principal, players, Teaching & Non-teaching staff, match officials and students.
