The Department of Commerce organized an industrial visit to SM Kannappa Automobiles Pvt. Ltd., a well-known automobile dealership and service provider. The visit was aimed at giving 1st-year commerce students practical exposure to the automobile industry, dealership operations, financial management, and customer service.

SM Kannappa Automobiles Pvt. Ltd. is a renowned automobile dealeship specializing in the sale, servicing, and spare parts of various automobile brands. The company is known for its customer service excellence, modern service centers, and vehicle financing options.

The management team welcomed the students and provided a brief history of the company. A presentation was given on the automobile industry’s growth, challenges, and business opportunities. Students were taken through the vehicle display and customer interaction process. The pricing strategy, financing options, and insurance services were explained. The role of marketing, customer service, and after-sales support was highlighted.

Students visited the vehicle servicing and maintenance section to understand repairs, quality checks, and spare parts management. Experts explained warranty claims, vehicle diagnostics, and servicing techniques. The importance of customer feedback and satisfaction in service operations was emphasized.

The inventory management system for vehicle parts and accessories was explained. Students learned how vehicles are procured, stocked, and delivered to customers. The impact of global supply chain disruptions on the automobile sector was discussed.

The revenue model, cost management, and dealership profitability were explained. HR professionals discussed career opportunities in sales, service, and management. Students gained insights into employee training programs and industry skill requirements.

Students gained practical knowledge of how an automobile dealership operates. The visit helped connect theoretical commerce concepts with real-world business applications. Students understood the importance of customer service and brand reputation. Many students showed interest in entrepreneurship and career opportunities in the automobile industry.
