Samskriti - The Cultural Committee of St Francis College organized Ethnic day on 30th July 2022 which focused on celebrating different cultures and ethnic groups. Dr. Sudha Thomas and Ms. Nikhitha S Thomas were the faculty coordinators for the event. Ms. Sakshi from 1st year B. Com A&F and Ms. Zoya from 2nd Year B. Com A &F was the student coordinators for the event. The objective of conducting Ethnic day was to help students to reconnect people with traditional and cultural roots and promote the true essence of age-old customs and traditions that have helped forged the different civilizations around the world.

The event started at 10:00 AM. The MCs Ms. Zoya from 2nd year B. Com A&F and Mr. Sourav from 3rd year B. Com A&F welcomed the dignitaries, faculties, and all the students to the event. The event started with a prayer led by the college choir, followed by the lighting of the lamp. The event was set off with an address by Bro. Antony Vayalil, Director on the importance of Ethnicity, followed by an address by Bro. Peter, Deputy Director, followed by an address by our Principal Dr. R.N Subba Rao.

On this occasion, folk dance and a fashion walk were conducted to encourage students to showcase their Ethnicity and State. There was a good number of participations for both the dance and fashion walk. The colorful event showcased the traditional diversity of India.

Students stole the show with their traditional wear and ethnic jewelry. It was indeed a pleasant event and all the students participated with great zeal.
