Objective :
• The main objective of this program is “to create awareness and action for the protection of the environment”.
• To raise awareness about environmental issues.
• To promote sustainable practices in the community.

Outcome :
· Students will care for the environment and encourage others too for the same.
· Students will care for the endangered species.
Students will develop a passion to plant trees and take care of them.

NCC Unit of St. Francis College has celebrated “World Environment Day” 2023 by conducting various activities like plastic collection, tree plantation, awareness rally, and essay competition for college students on 5th June 2023, from 8 AM to 4 PM.

50 cadets from ICSE School, PU, and Degree College participated along with 100 other volunteers from NSS, Civil Defence, and Youth Red Cross units, and 03 ANOs, and 03 Officers of other units were also present in the event.

All Volunteers collected plastic waste of about 100 KG in the 3rd Battalion KSRP Ground, deposited it to BBMP, and planted 50 tree saplings along with KSRP staff. Later all volunteers conducted an awareness rally from the college to Wipro Park to create awareness about plastic pollution.

All volunteers along with ANOs and other unit officers went to the ASC (North) Centre for tree plantation. Volunteers planted 80 saplings of different kinds of trees with ASC Staff. Captain Khushboo Jain started the event and motivated and appreciated cadets through her speech.

An essay competition was conducted for all the students of St. Francis College, Koramangala and 39 students were part of this competition. Winners were rewarded with a cash prize of Rs. 3000/- on 9/6/2023.
