Seminar On Robotic Process Automation


The Department of BCA organized a Seminar on Robotic Process Automation (RPA) on 8th October 2024 in the 4th Floor Seminar Hall. The session was conducted by Gajendra P, who explained the fundamentals of RPA, its industrial applications, and future career prospects.

A session on Open LLM Hackathon


A session on Open LLM Hackathon was organized by the BCA Department and held in the 4th Floor Seminar Hall of the college. The event brought together students and faculties to explore the potential of open-source large language models (LLMs). The hackathon aimed to inspire participants to create innovative, real-world applications using these models, emphasizing accessibility, ethics, and creativity in the AI space

Project Exhibition


The Project Exhibition served as a vibrant showcase of innovation and technical creativity, featuring selected student projects that highlighted practical applications of classroom learning. With expert evaluation by Ms. Hemalatha C and Ms. Shareeba Firdose, the event encouraged students to articulate their ideas confidently and refine their technical presentation skills. 

Industrial Visit to IISc Open day 2025


The visit to IISc Open Day was an enriching experience that allowed students to witness groundbreaking research and technological advancements firsthand. Through engaging exhibits, live demonstrations, and expert interactions, students gained valuable insights into diverse scientific fields. The event successfully fostered curiosity, enhanced their research perspective, and motivated them to explore future opportunities in science and technology. 

TRIPLE QUEST


Triple Quest, a flagship multi-round challenge event, offered students a vibrant platform to showcase their intellect, creativity, and problem-solving prowess. From cracking quirky quizzes in CTRL + LOL, to decoding tunes in Find the Song, and finally navigating the riddle-studded labyrinth of Chase the Puzzle, participants were thoroughly engaged throughout the event. The fusion of logic, pop culture, tech, and teamwork ensured that the experience was both educational and exhilarating. The event concluded on a high note, leaving participants with sharpened minds, new skills, and a thirst for more quests ahead.

Learning Beyond the Classroom: Industrial Visit to KMF Dairy Plant


The Department of MCA, St. Francis College, Bengaluru, organized an Industrial Visit to the Nandini – Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) Dairy Plant at Shivanahalli, Kanakapura, on 27 January 2026, as part of an IQAC initiative.The visit was arranged for I Year and II Year MCA students with the objective of providing practical exposure to real-world industrial operations. During the visit, students gained valuable insights into large-scale milk processing, quality assurance practices, packaging systems, cold chain management, and distribution mechanisms adopted by the dairy plant.

VerbaTact: The Battle of Wits


VerbaTact: The Battle of Wits was held on 09 July 2025 by the Department of MCA to enhance postgraduate students’ communication skills, logical thinking, and verbal articulation through an engaging intellectual activity.

PYCON INDIA 2025


The Workshop – PyCon India 2025 was conducted on 12 September 2025 at St. Francis College, organized by the Department of BCA in association with IQAC. As part of the national PyCon India 2025 conference, the workshop focused on providing hands-on learning in Python and its ecosystem.

Cyber Security in Action Organised By Department of Computer Applications – BCA


A session on Cyber Security was held on 10/02/2026 to create awareness about protecting computers, networks, and data from unauthorized access and cyber threats. The programme highlighted the importance of safe online practices and digital privacy in today’s technology-driven world.

Generative AI Workshop


The department organized a 3-day Generative AI Workshop from 16–02–2026 to 18–02–2026 at the 6th Floor Seminar Hall and Computer Lab to enhance students’ understanding of cloud-based AI services, machine learning techniques, and practical AI applications

EDIT-X – Master the Frame


This is an intra-department individual editing event. Participants will be provided with a sample clip or image by the organizers and are required to complete the editing within 1 hour using only the permitted software. The decision of the judges will be final and binding.

Bridging Campus and Corporate Gap – Alumni Talk on Career & Tech Trends Organised by Dept of MCA

The Department of MCA at St. Francis College, Bengaluru, under the IQAC initiative, successfully organized an Industry Leader Talk on Friday, 27 February at 10:00 AM in the 4th Floor Seminar Hall.The session was delivered by Mr. Shreesha Kadambi, Program Director at IBM India Software Labs, who shared valuable insights into industry trends, career opportunities, and the skills required to succeed in the IT sector.

SQL- Based Data Query Competition


A SQL Data Exploration activity was conducted on 17-01-2026 with 14 teams to enhance students’ practical understanding of database querying and analytical skills, recognizing top-performing teams based on query accuracy and performance.

AI Dev is a technical event focused on AI-powered web development, introducing students to modern tools and techniques for building and deploying websites.

Mind to Machine


The “Mind to Machine” event, organized by the Impetus IT Club of the Department of Computer Applications on 17th March 2026, was an intra-department activity aimed at bridging the gap between UI design and functional code using Generative AI. 

INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO RUBIXE


The BCA Department of St. Francis College organized an industrial visit to Rubixe on 20th February 2026 to provide students with practical exposure to emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Cyber Security. The visit helped students understand real-world industry workflows, project execution processes, and career opportunities, enhancing their practical knowledge and industry readiness.

ORIENTATION CUM SEMINAR ON VALUE ADDED COURSES


The BCA Department, St. Francis College, Bengaluru conducted an Orientation-cum-Seminar on Cloud Computing and Ethical Hacking on 13th February 2026 to introduce students to the value-added course and its industry relevance. The session guided 2nd Semester BCA students on career opportunities and emerging technologies.

The Department of BCA, St. Francis College, Bengaluru organized a Web Designing Workshop on 7th March 2026 to provide students with hands-on experience in modern web development technologies. The session helped students enhance their technical skills and gain practical exposure to responsive website design and industry practices.

IOT Workshop


The Department of Computer Applications (BCA), St. Francis College organized an IoT Workshop on 25 April 2026 for IV BCA students. Conducted by Mr. Nixon E, the session provided insights into IoT concepts, applications, and practical implementation, helping students prepare for their V Semester Project through hands-on learning.

Global Education Awareness Programme


The Department of Computer Applications (BCA) at St. Francis College organized a Global Education Awareness Programme on 24th April 2026 under its IQAC initiative. Conducted by Mr. Divay Tak in collaboration with MetaApply, the session guided VI Semester students on study abroad opportunities, covering admissions, scholarships, entrance exams, and global career prospects.

Achiever’s Day | IT Club Impetus


Impetus IT Club organized Achiever’s Day on 05 May 2026 at the 4th Floor Seminar Hall. The event honored BCA students, volunteers, newsletter contributors, and IT Club office members through prize distribution and appreciation, while encouraging teamwork and active participation.
