The Indian Knowledge System (IKS) is an initiative launched under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, as part of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). IKS focuses on preserving, promoting, and integrating India’s traditional wisdom into contemporary education and research. It aims to revive India’s contributions in science, mathematics, health, technology, philosophy, and culture by blending them with modern scientific approaches to create holistic and sustainable solutions for present-day challenges.
IKS works towards developing a knowledge ecosystem where ancient practices such as Ayurveda, Yoga, Indian mathematics, astronomy, art, architecture, and sustainable agriculture are studied, documented, validated, and applied to address societal needs while keeping India’s rich heritage alive.
To create a globally recognized platform that revives, researches, and integrates India’s traditional knowledge systems with modern education and innovation to benefit humanity and promote sustainable living.
