The Anti-Drug Cell of St. Francis College, Koramangala, in association with IQAC, organized a Poster Making Competition on the theme “Smart Minds Don’t Need Drugs” on November 13, 2025 (Thursday), from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the 6th Floor Seminar Hall of the college.
The primary objective of the competition was to create awareness among students regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse and to encourage them to adopt informed and healthy lifestyle choices. Undergraduate students from various departments actively participated in the event, demonstrating their creativity and sense of social responsibility through impactful poster presentations.
The participants effectively utilized artistic elements such as colour, design, and thought-provoking slogans to depict the physical, psychological, and social consequences of drug addiction. The posters conveyed strong anti-drug messages and reflected a clear understanding of the importance of promoting a drug-free environment.
The event also provided a valuable platform for students to enhance their creativity, advocacy, and communication skills by expressing preventive messages through visual art. It contributed to increasing awareness and sensitivity among students regarding substance abuse and inspired them to play an active role in fostering a healthy campus environment.
To encourage participation and recognize excellence, prizes were awarded to the winners. The First Prize comprised Rs. 1500/-, the Second Prize Rs. 1000/-, and the Third Prize Rs. 500/-, with a total prize allocation of Rs. 3000/-.
The competition was conducted successfully under the guidance of the coordinators of the Anti-Drug Cell. The event concluded with a note of appreciation for all participants, marking it as a meaningful and impactful initiative towards promoting a drug-free and healthy society.
