Instead of only getting certificates, NCC cadets are exposed to a wide range of employment opportunities and benefits that help them lead a disciplined, confident, and quality life.

Employment Opportunities

  1. As Officers in Armed Forces – Vacancies reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders.
    1. Army:
      1. OTA Chennai – 50 vacancies per course for Short Service Commission (Non-Tech). No UPSC exam, only SSB interview.
      2. 20% vacancies reserved for Girl Cadets.
      3. Scholarship of ₹150/- per month till receipt of stipend for NCC cadets selected for OTA/IMA/AFA/NA.
    2. Navy: Six vacancies per course for Officers. No UPSC exam, only SSB interview. Two years age relaxation for ‘C’ Certificate holders.
    3. Air Force: 10% vacancies in all courses including flying training. No AFCAT/UPSC exam, only SSB interview.
  2. ORs, Sailors and Airmen: 5% to 10% bonus marks awarded for recruitment.
  3. Paramilitary Forces: 2% to 10% bonus marks awarded for recruitment.
  4. Department of Telecommunication: Bonus marks awarded for recruitment.
  5. CRPF: NCC cadets holding a 3rd division degree are eligible for recruitment to Gazetted posts.
  6. NCC Employment: Civilian Gliding Instructors, Girl Cadet Instructors, Whole Time Lady Officers.
  7. State Governments: Preference for State Services in certain States.
  8. Industry: Preference in security-related jobs (e.g., Reliance, Tata, etc.).
  9. NCC Games: Cash awards to teams and individuals for excellence.

Benefits / Incentives

Scholarships

  1. Sahara Scholarship:
    1. ₹6,000/- each for 3 JD & 3 JW cadets from each Group
    2. ₹12,000/- each for 2 SD & 2 SW cadets from each Group
    3. ₹30,000/- each for 67 cadets pursuing professional/higher studies

    Applications to reach HQ DGNCC by 30th November every year.

  2. Cadets Welfare Society Scholarship: 1000 scholarships of ₹6,000/- each, with 250 reserved for rural/disturbed areas. Applications to reach DGNCC by 30th November every year.

Awards

  1. Best Cadet Awards:
    1. Best Cadets – ₹3,500/- each
    2. Second Best Cadets – ₹2,500/- each
  2. RDC & TSC Participation: ₹5,000/- awarded to each cadet participating in Republic Day Camp.
  3. CM’s & Governor’s Awards:
    1. Gold / Silver / Bronze medals worth ₹3,000 / ₹2,000 / ₹1,000
    2. Commendation Cards for outstanding achievements
    3. Governor’s Medals for excellence in shooting, cross country, home nursing, etc.
