Guest Lecture on Union Budget 2026–27: Fiscal Choices and India’s Growth Path

The Department of Economics, under the Arthashastra Club and in association with IQAC, organized a guest lecture on “Union Budget 2026–27: Fiscal Choices and India’s Growth Path” on 17 February 2026 at the Heritage Hall.

The session commenced at 11:30 AM with a warm welcome to the resource person, Dr. Mangala T, by the organizing committee. The speaker provided a detailed explanation of the major highlights of the Union Budget 2026–27, focusing on taxation reforms, government expenditure priorities, fiscal deficit management, and policy measures aimed at economic growth.

Dr. Mangala T explained how fiscal policy decisions influence inflation, employment, investment, and development. The lecture also highlighted the government’s strategies toward infrastructure development, social welfare schemes, and long-term economic stability.

Students actively listened and took part in the interactive discussion session. The question-and-answer segment enabled students to clarify doubts and gain deeper insights into the practical aspects of budgeting and policy formulation.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to the resource person for delivering an informative and enlightening session.
