State Level St. Francis Poetry competition 2025 -26

The Kannada Department of St. Francis College organized a state-level St. Francis Poetry Competition. The event included the distribution of award certificates and the release of a poetry anthology, and it was conducted grandly.
Students from various colleges across the state enthusiastically participated in the program. The poems submitted for the competition reflected themes such as social pain, human values, love, nature, and contemporary thoughts, said Principal Dr. R. N. Subbarao.
The coordinator, Keerthy P., stated that even in today’s technological era, it is encouraging to see young people expressing their emotions through poetry.
Speaking at the event, Head of the Kannada Department Dr. Santosh Kumar R. M. explained that literary activities play an important role in developing linguistic sensitivity, creativity, and social responsibility among students. He added that such state-level competitions provide a valuable platform for young talents to showcase their literary abilities.

First Prize:
Ruchita B. S., student of The National College, for the poem “Yuddha” .

Second Prize:
Sindhu Sri from Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence for the poem “Ondu Vishwa – Ondu Kutumba”

Third Prize:
Varun G. from St. Francis College for the poem “Bhoomige Banda Belakina Atithi”

Certificates and Cash Prize were distributed to the winners.

The event was attended by Director Dr. Titus Anto, Principal Dr. R. N. Subbarao, IQAC Coordinator Dr. Anusha N, Head of the Kannada Department Dr. Santosh Kumar R. M., and Coordinator Keerthy. P.
Outcome
To develop appreciation for poetry and literature by engaging participants in literary expression and artistic imagination.
To encourage creative writing skills among students through the composition of original poems.
