The Department of Hindi organized a guest lecture on “Patyakram ke Natak,Upanyas aur khand kavya par charcha on 14 November 2025 at the 4th Floor Seminar Hall. The session was conducted by Dr. Kshithija, Assistant Professor, MLA Academy of Higher Training, who is well known for her scholarly work and deep understanding of Hindi literary genres. The objective of the lecture was to enhance students’ comprehension of drama, novel, and khand-kavya prescribed in the syllabus.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Heena Shareef, a second-year student of B.Com A&F, who also efficiently served as the emcee for the event. Her introduction set a positive and engaging tone for the session. This was followed by an informative introduction of the guest speaker by Aatheef, a first-year BBA student, who highlighted Dr. Kshithija’s academic background, achievements, and contributions to Hindi literature.

In her lecture, Dr. Kshithija began by clearly explaining the basic differences between naatak (drama), upanyas (novel), and khand-kavya. She elaborated on how drama integrates dialogue, action, and stage direction to create a live and dynamic experience. She further discussed the narrative depth of the novel, emphasizing its role in portraying society, emotions, and human psychology. The concept of khand-kavya was explained in detail, focusing on its structure, central theme, and lyrical expression.

The lecture was made more engaging through examples from well-known Hindi literary works, which helped students relate theoretical concepts to actual texts. Students actively participated in the discussion, asked thoughtful questions, and interacted with the speaker, making the session lively and meaningful.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Sasikala K, Event Coordinator, who expressed gratitude to the guest speaker, faculty members, and students. The Department of Hindi sincerely appreciates Dr. Kshithija for delivering an enlightening lecture that enriched students’ understanding of Hindi literature.
