Partners in Purpose: Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between St. Francis College and Dementia India Alliance

 

 

The Department of Science – Psychology (PJC) of St. Francis College marked a significant milestone by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dementia India Alliance on 29 June 2026 at the St. Francis College campus. The MoU was formally signed by Rev. Br. Dr. Titus Anto and representatives of Dementia India Alliance led by Mr. Anand Kumar.

This collaboration aims to strengthen academic–community engagement and provide students with meaningful opportunities to learn about dementia care, mental health advocacy, caregiving practices, and community-based psychological services. Through this partnership, students and faculty will be able to participate in awareness programmes, field visits, internships, training initiatives, and community outreach activities that foster experiential learning and social responsibility.

Dementia India Alliance (DIA) is a national organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of persons living with dementia and their caregivers. The organization works towards creating awareness, promoting early diagnosis and intervention, supporting caregivers, and advocating for dementia-friendly communities across India. DIA has been instrumental in bringing together professionals, caregivers, organizations, and volunteers to address the growing challenges associated with dementia.

The Department of Science – Psychology (PJC) at St. Francis College is committed to nurturing academic excellence, research aptitude, and community engagement among students.
