Geeks for Geeks

"Geeks for Geeks" was a two-day acting workshop designed and delivered by Ms. Shwetha Srinivas, a trained theatre practitioner and acting coach. The workshop was conceived as a peer-learning and mentorship initiative — theatre enthusiasts (the "geeks") sharing knowledge with fellow students who were keen to explore the craft of acting for both stage and screen.

The first day opened with an orientation session in the seminar hall, where participants were introduced to the fundamentals of stage presence, voice modulation, and physical expression. Students engaged in group warm-up exercises and introductory improvisation activities that broke down inhibitions and built ensemble trust. The session was lively, with participants from various programmes across the college actively taking part.

The second day moved into more immersive exercises. Students worked in small groups on movement-based activities, practising how the body communicates emotion and intention without words. Scene work and character study exercises helped participants understand the difference between performing for a live audience versus a camera. The workshop concluded with brief individual performances and constructive feedback from the resource person.

The event was a significant success in broadening the club's reach — introducing the art of acting to students who had never previously stepped onto a stage, while also deepening the skills of existing club members. The group photograph taken at the end of the session reflected the energy, enthusiasm, and camaraderie the workshop generated.
