Navigating Teenager Understanding: Emotional and Mental Changes

 

The Department of Psychology, in collaboration with the Sathava Club and in association with IQAC, organised a guest lecture titled “Navigating Teenager Understanding: Emotional and Mental Changes” on 26 November 2025 at St. Francis College, Bengaluru. The session was delivered by Mr. Nachiketh B, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, Christ Academy Institute of Advanced Studies, Bengaluru. The lecture focused on helping students understand the emotional, psychological, and behavioural changes experienced during adolescence. Mr. Nachiketh B explained key developmental challenges faced by teenagers, including emotional regulation, identity formation, and mental well-being, using relatable examples and interactive discussion. The session encouraged awareness, empathy, and healthy coping strategies while addressing common misconceptions about adolescent behaviour. The programme was coordinated by Ms. Anju S and Ms. Mridula Kulkarni, and concluded with reflections on the importance of psychological support during the teenage years. The event was informative, engaging, and contributed meaningfully to students’ understanding of adolescent mental health.
