Documentary Screening and Interactive Guest Lecture on the Life and Achievements of Rev. Ferdinand Kittel

 

 

On Monday, 13th October 2025, the Department of Kannada of St. Francis Degree College organized a program titled “Documentary Screening and Interactive Guest Lecture on the Life and Achievements of Rev. Ferdinand Kittel” in the PU College Auditorium. The program was coordinated by Dr. Jagadish Babu B.V., Associate Professor of Kannada.

The chief guest and resource person for the event was noted filmmaker, editor, and writer Mr. Prashanth Pandit. He screened an 80-minute documentary directed by him, which beautifully brought together Kannada, German, and English languages. The documentary was presented to both faculty members and students. Following the screening, an interactive session was held where he actively engaged with the audience and answered questions posed by students and faculty.

The program was presided over by the College Director, Brother Dr. Titus Anton, who inaugurated the event and appreciated the initiative. The Principal of the college, Dr. R. N. Subbarao, also expressed his appreciation for the program.

The event was attended by IQAC Coordinator Mrs. Anusha, Head of the Kannada Department Dr. Santosh Kumar R. M., along with other faculty members. Around 300 students participated enthusiastically and benefited from the program.

The welcome address was delivered by Kumari Prakruthi, President of Chinnudi Kannada Sangha. The success of the program was largely due to the dedicated efforts of all the office bearers of Chinnudi Kannada Sangha.

The event concluded with the National Anthem.
