Decathlon Field visit

 

                                                            

A field visit to Decathlon was organized for M.Com students on 4th December 2025 with the objective of providing practical exposure to retail management, store operations, and customer engagement strategies. The visit aimed to help students understand the real-time functioning of a large-scale retail outlet, including inventory management, merchandising, supply chain practices, and sales techniques.

During the visit, students observed the store layout, product categorization, pricing strategies, and the use of technology in managing operations. They also gained insights into customer service practices and employee roles in enhancing the shopping experience.

The outcome of the visit was highly beneficial, as students were able to connect theoretical concepts with practical applications. It enhanced their understanding of retail business models, improved their analytical skills, and provided clarity on career opportunities in the retail sector.
