CLASH OF MINDS The Voice of Individual – Debate Competition

 

 

On March 10, 2026, the Department of English, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), hosted a riveting debate competition titled "Clash of Minds." Held in Room No. 102 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, the event served as a vibrant platform for intellectual exchange, challenging students to articulate their thoughts with precision and passion.

The competition was anchored by the emcee, Kishan, who opened the floor with an energetic introduction. The event saw a total of 12 participants who engaged in a battle of wits, covering diverse perspectives on the chosen topics. To ensure a fair and academic evaluation, the session was presided over by an esteemed panel of judges: Ms. Soumya, Assistant Professor from the Department of English, and Dr. Shwetha, Assistant Professor. Their expertise provided the participants with a high standard of critique and encouragement.

The seamless organization of the event was the result of a coordinated effort between the faculty and students. Ms. Surega, Assistant Professor of the Department of English, served as the faculty coordinator, providing the necessary academic oversight, while Bhavana, a 4th-semester BA student, efficiently managed the logistics as the student coordinator.

As the arguments concluded, the winners were recognized for their exceptional rhetorical skills and logical depth. Mohammed Bilal secured the first place, receiving a cash prize of ₹1,000. The second place was awarded to Pavithra with a prize of ₹750, and Sushmitha claimed the third place, earning ₹500. The event reached its conclusion at 3:30 PM with a formal vote of thanks, celebrating the spirit of healthy academic discourse and the successful collaboration between the English Department and IQAC.
