

The Department of Science – Psychology, in collaboration with the Sathava Club and in association with IQAC, organised a guest lecture titled “Cognitive Shift – Exploring the Power of CBT” on 21 November 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:15 PM in Room Number 308. The programme was conducted for UG Psychology students, with 29 participants attending the session. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Mihir Modak, Assistant Professor, Department of Humanities (UG & PG), ST PAULS COLLEGE. The session began with a welcome address by Mr. Ethan, President of the Sathava Club, who introduced the topic and the resource person. Mr. Modak provided a comprehensive overview of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), highlighting the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and explained how cognitive restructuring helps in identifying and modifying maladaptive thought patterns. Through interactive discussions and practical examples, he demonstrated the relevance of CBT in managing anxiety, depression, and stress among students. The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. Gowtham, Vice President of the Sathava Club. Overall, the lecture was academically enriching and enabled students to understand core CBT concepts and apply basic techniques such as reframing and thought-challenging in everyday contexts.
