Battle of Bidders IPL Auction simulation

 

 The Battle of Bidders event was conducted as an engaging interclass activity designed to simulate the dynamics of an IPL auction. The programme began with an introduction by the organizers outlining the objectives, rules, and structure of the event. Participants were grouped into teams representing franchises and oriented about the two rounds designed to test both knowledge and strategic decision-making skills.

The first round was a quiz competition based on past IPL matches, players, records, and memorable moments. It served as a knowledge-based screening stage and included direct, rapid-fire, and identification questions, creating an energetic and competitive atmosphere. Teams that performed well qualified for the next round.

The second round was the highlight—the live auction of 175 players. Teams were given a fixed budget and tasked with building a balanced squad through strategic bidding. Players were categorized into batsmen, bowlers, all-rounders, and wicketkeepers. Participants actively engaged in bidding wars, carefully managing budgets and team combinations.

The event concluded with the announcement of the winning team, followed by appreciation of all participants. Overall, the event proved to be a dynamic learning experience that effectively combined knowledge, strategy, and teamwork.
