:ST. FRANCIS COLLEGE :

A guest lecture was organised by the department of Commerce on 12/11/2021 for the first year students of B.Com I sem A & F (A sec and B sec) in the II Floor seminar hall were 120 students were present in total.

The main objective was to break the ice which makes the students move around and interact with each other (with the pandemic and online session, many students today experience social anxiety) by making them understand the need for self-development and to make them understand that “Success is not a destination, it’s a journey.”

Session began at 10:45 am with a general welcome by Emcee Mr. Abhisek a Student of I sem Bcom A& F (A) to all dignitaries Present i.e. the Director Bro, Antony and HOD Commerce Mr, Santosh, teachers Ms.Nikitha and Dr.Pushpa Latha who were a part of the session and everyone present for the session. Guest was introduced by Ms Divya.S Asssistant Professor, Department of Commerce Mr.Mohammed Younus, Chief Enrichment officer, Institute of skills, Bangalore and was welcomed warmly by the Director.

The Director addressed the students about the significance of self-development, self-disciple and the importance of participatory learning and sharing his words of wisdom to the students.

Guest speaker took over the session by having an ice breaker and the session kick started with a humours dialogue that was exchanged by the speaker to the students. Throughout the session the students showed great enthusiasm and were curious to know more about skills that would facilitate them in developing personality.

The key takeaways laid emphasis on the importance of education in ones’ future success, role of acquiring knowledge and wisdom, how the students can build on their strengths, the role of skills in developing personality which are the “have must” in present scenario and the way one can devise plan of action to become a better personality by embracing a bright future.

Session was concluded by proposing Vote of thanks by Ms. Shakshi Student of I sem BCom A & F(B).
