INTRODUCTION
The Youth Red Cross (YRC) Unit of St. Francis College was established in the academic year 2021-2022 with the objective of promoting humanitarian values, social service, and community engagement among students. The unit is affiliated with the Indian Red Cross Society, Karnataka State Branch, Bengaluru, as per the directives of the Government of Karnataka, Department of Higher Education, under Order No: MED 38 Vividha, 2016, dated 06/04/2016. St. Francis College officially received its affiliation on 16/07/2020, with the Affiliation Certificate Number: IRCS/YRC/BCU/9389/2020-2021. Since its inception, the Youth Red Cross Unit of St. Francis College has actively contributed to community welfare, health awareness, disaster relief initiatives, and youth empowerment programs. Through various outreach activities, training sessions, and voluntary service, the unit continues to make meaningful efforts in serving society and upholding the principles of the International Red Cross Movement.

The YRC Unit remains committed to fostering a spirit of compassion, leadership, and selfless service, encouraging students to become responsible citizens dedicated to humanitarian causes.

To inspire and empower youth to be compassionate leaders, dedicated to humanitarian service, fostering a culture of social responsibility, and creating a healthier and more resilient community.

MISSION:
1. To promote humanitarian values by engaging students in social service, disaster response, and health awareness programs.
2. To develop leadership and teamwork among youth through active participation in Red Cross initiatives.
3. To provide first aid training and emergency response skills to equip students for crisis situations.
4. To foster a spirit of volunteerism and selfless service for the betterment of society.
5. To collaborate with local and national organizations to support underprivileged communities and promote public health.
