The Commerce Department successfully conducted the event "Turn Court", a dynamic and
interactive competition designed to enhance students' critical thinking, analytical skills, and
decision-making abilities. The event was structured to simulate real-world business and legal
scenarios, allowing students to present and defend their perspectives effectively.
Objectives of the Event:
• To encourage students to develop logical reasoning and persuasive communication.
• To provide a platform for participants to engage in business and legal debates.
• To enhance problem-solving skills in a competitive yet educational environment.
• To foster teamwork and collaboration among commerce students.
The event commenced with an inaugural address by David Christie, who welcomed the
judges Mr. Jesmon Raj N and Ms. P.B. Deepa and also emphasized the importance of critical
thinking and decision-making in the field of commerce. Each participant presented their
arguments before a panel of judges comprising faculty members and industry experts. The
competition was structured into multiple rounds, with participants advancing based on their
performance in logical reasoning, clarity of argument, and presentation skills. Engaging and
thought-provoking business and legal case studies. Active participation from students,
showcasing exceptional debating skills. Valuable insights and feedback from the panel of
judges. Enthusiastic audience interaction and support.
The event concluded with announcement of results recognizing the top-performing
participants. The winner of the event was Ajith from V sem B.com LSCM. The winners were
honored with cash prizes for their outstanding performance. The judges and faculty members
praised the participants for their dedication and analytical abilities. The Turn Court event
was a resounding success, achieving its goal of enhancing students' critical thinking and
public speaking skills. The students eagerly look forward to similar events in the future to
further develop their professional competencies.
